Default Minigames for GW2=Yay or Nay?

Minigames like Remains of Sahlahja or Dwarven Boxing for guild wars 2 would be yay or nay?Discuss.
I think minigames would add a bit of replay value and goals, as long as they don't go overboard.

thats fine as long as its not nessisary to achive a title or finish a quest, or to get that much wanted skill...(remember polymock...it sucks). BUt just for fun, sure thing.

1. it's yea, not yay
2. challenge missions are not minigames
3. and yes, it would be fun, but it would detract from the actual time spent playing the game unless they made good rewards for it.

Mini Games are a nice touch to any game when done correctly, and with the A-net team on the case, I have no doubt that we'll have some nice ones for GW2.

I'm for it, when the Minigames get then also used like Minigames and have good thought out concepts, including some kind of prices too, if the players beats certain challenges in those minigames (but nothing too special, only stuff, that you could also buy, but would not be cheap)

What I'd lvoe to see for GW2:

- Rollerbeetle Racing (with far more race tracks and better Skill Concept that makes the Minigame more balanced and not so heavily based on luck, but far more really on gaming SKILLS!!!)

I made about that several Suggestions for better Skill System and for Example Names of new Race Tracks (18) beign placed overall of Tyria, so that all continents have some places for races *g* (rhyme lol) so that this Minigame could be also used for a funny PvP with World Championships ^^
**********

Then I would extremely love to see in GW2 a Card Minigame with Monster Cards ect. similar to Final fantasy 8's Card Minigame "Triple Triad" naturally then with a slightly different gameplay concept and name.
http://www.ffextreme.com/ff8/cards.html

Monsters ingame of PvE could drop then their "Card versions" as common to very rare trophies. Also epic bosses would do so and for NPC's, Heroes or whatever other characters, players would have to do special side quests or certain would be receiveable only to playing and winning the game with specific NPC's and than having the luck, that they have used the Card, that you want.

But you could naturally also play with other players or simple trade cards with others...
Card Games are ever the most awesome kind of Minigames, because they are like big Surprise Eggs ^^

- they give the player long term motivation and a goal to strife for
- they are wonderful for all collectors of us players
- and for those people, that its so important to have one >.> this minigame gives you some kind of "epeen", when you terribly need one, by collecting all cards, and due to the fact, there are also "rare" ones under, the Card minigame could be the best alternative to Minipets, instead making money with Minipets, you make money then with Trading Cards ingame XD.

Maybe both Concepts could be "merged" and the rare cards would have a special effetc, allowing the player to produce a "Hologram" of the creature from the card as "Minipet", betw merge those concepts also together with polymock and make a card game similar to "YuGiOh" where all cards have holographic Mini-Version and et voila, we would have our Minipet-fights together with a wonderful Card Minigame
*********

Hopefully GW2 will get housing and enterable locations, means buildings, so that some towns will have Taverns or so, where players would be able to play a "Dart Minigame"

Dart is cool and for a medieval scheme can be taken simple daggers instead of dart arrows. A Minigame with simple to learn rules and is again also pvp-playable as tournaments, but also as simple 1vs1 pvp, for pvp you just need minimum 2 and for pve alone its a very nice minigame for every now and then, when you are bored and its a minigame, that will train your Hand-Eye-Coordination, because that you will need, wen you want to play good Dart as a Minigame, especially when you choose to play without "help"
********

The typical minigame of RPG#s number 1 is ???
right !!!

Fishing ^^

Would be very cool to have fishing as Minigame, ya maybe even as Job lol, when Anet really implements into GW2 jobs and maybe the gameplay mechnaic, that characters in pve have to drink and to eat to stay on good health, or maybe simple just to recover the characters "perseverance", if GW2 will receive maybe such a gameplay mechanic, similar to good offline RPG's, like the Gothic row or so to give Pve in GW2 a better flair of RPG and to that belongs also that characters have to learn how to survive in the wilds, being all alone, how to get on food ect. XD

The caught fishes could be consumeable items with different effects in regard of what a kind of fish you've caught.
I personally hope that GW2 will have traditional consumeable items like potions ect. for the Solo Gamers in GW2 then, because GW2 will become far more playable solo, than GW1 and the easiest way to make this is to give the game traditional consumeables so that all classes can heal them self, when needed, but naturally not so effective or strong, like the healer professions.

Ragnarok shows it, the game has traditional consumeables, but the healer class there is still the most important profession of all, because without it you won't stand good chances for longer time against the strongest foes, because consumeables are only LIMITED, a healing profession can heal you much longer, because the ability to heal regenerates permanently over time for them, thus meaning, it is UNLIMITED. Same way can work for GW2. Also traditional potions are a good and easy way to make money, when the production is cheaper, than to buy them from NPC merchants and they are a very nice gold sink for those players with characters, who would create them, until you sell your created stuff to a player to rerain ur money + a little profit
*********

Dwarfen Boxing yet, but only hopefull with an other and better Concept, by rejecting the retarded idea to make Dwarfs not a playable race and make them later ,when further races get implemented (anet stated, the ones we know yet won't be the only new playable races, we get) playable and then this should a a Minigame for Dwarfs only, but the stuff you get from this minigame would be also only relevant for Dwarfs..., imo all races should have also 1 or 2 minigames, only the specific race should be able to play.

Human > Card Game
Dwarfs (when they SHOULD get playable) > Dwarven Boxing
Charr > Catch the Mice*

* Catch the Mice:

This would be a minigame based on this game with very much holes in the ground and at random holes pops up a Head of a Mouse making for a second a squeeking loud and than disappears to appear again on an other hole.
And you as Charr run around with a big Hammer to slah in onto the Mouse to make them unconscious to eat them XD, so more mice you eat, so better *g* simple minigame huh, but there is naturally a HOOK *gg*
There apear naturally not only normal mice, under them would be also "Fake Mice", and if you hit them, you activate a trap of the mice, that will hurt you, and when your health reaches 0, then game over, Also there would a timecounter counting downwards, when it reaches 0, game ends automatically, and so more the counter goes near to zero, so quicker will the mice appear and disapper and so more Fake Mices will also appear XD.

And now to the most funny bonus this game should give the player:
if the players successful hits on the LAST second a real Mouse and has hitten over xx mices, the player will receive some bonus points.

Also real mices will come in different types:

White > gives 1 point
Black > random, steals you either 1 point or gives you 2 > 50/50 chance
Brown (Golden) rarely comes up and gives you 5 points and lets you run quicker for a short period.

If you hit a Fake Mouse, which comes also in all 3 colors, you will lose

White: 3 Points
Black: Lose 25% more Health and lose no points/ 5 Points ,again 50/50
Brown (Golden) 5 Points and will use a skill on you, that slows you down 90% for short period.

So this minigame requires of the player good reflexes and eyes to see the little differences between the real mouses and the fakes, what is not so easy, when they pop up and disappear ever quicker, so more the time runs down to 0.

Norn > The Colloseum*

* The Collosseum would be nothing else, than what the name stands for, a place where the player fights several rounds against more and more enemies (monsters9, which become from round to round strogner and especially also bigger or for irritation significantly TINIER XD. Fights for 12 rounds for example and what is funnier, than to get pwned by a super tiny monster, where you think on first sight "aww that dust corn I'll beat in short time muahahah" ^^ [email protected];-) *ouch ah oouuu....

*comes out with douzends of broken bones and countless blue spots on the body ROFL

Sylvari > hmm, no clue, but maybe some kind of "Bio Chess" ? rofl XD with figures out of wood, a chess field out of some plants and flowers XD

Asuras > Sphere Ball > uhm, maybe something similar to FFX's Blitzball, but on a Gravity Sphere instead of being in a huge ball of Water

However, a big

/SIGNED

to this whole idea, because minigames are imo essential for MMORPG's, they give the game something that makes fun, when you are bored of the main game and want something to do, that has nothing to do with grind, farming or anything else, that has anythign to do with the main game, when you want just to relax a bit ingame, then you go play Minigames ...

Minigames are not only something for offline rpg's, mmo's should have also some, and then should be all playable, whenever the player wants to play them and NOT only at specific events on specific holiday days, like rollerbettle racing works in GW1 as event ony minigames ..

Such minigames tha are limitated to special events are retarded >.>
When minigames should be somethign special, then late players "unlock" them for permanent usage at free will, would be imo a perfect new stuff to spend balthazar Faction for in GW2, should this faction system about BP stay in GW2 ...

say you want unlock a minigame for permanent usage, whenever you want to play it, pay 10k or more BP for it ... maybe having different costs from minigame to minigame, race specific ones costing lesser BP, than those, that are playable with all races ...
